Name: Ryan Hayden, Andrew Poon, Paul Ladner, David Alayon
Topic: Acid Rain
Date: October 1, 1998

A. Current Situation

Acid rain is a growing environmental problem all around the world. It contributes to the destruction of forests, car corrosion, erosion of buildings that are old (historical buildings). The destructive chemicals can travel several hundred miles before falling and causing these problems. This problem is not only in North America, it is a widespread problem in our global community.

B. Topic Problem & Questions

To investigate the possibility of creating a realistic solution to the problem of the industrial emission which causes acid rain. What affects does acid rain have on the environment? Where does it originate? What can you do to decrease it? What do these air pollutants affect everyday people? Who will look after these problems? What will happen in the future?

C. Purpose of the project

The purpose of the project is to basically explore how acid rain impacts the economic world, physical world, and the biological world in the past, what it is doing in the present day, and also what will happen in the future.

D. Rationale

We selected this topic so we can educate others about the growing affects of acid rain and what outcomes it has on the environment. This problem is immense in the world and has been discussed for many years now but no solution is found. We intend to investigate this spreading problem.

E. Methodology

We are going to research this topic through information gathered in books, and on the Internet. Some of the project will be done in class, but nearly all of the project will be done at home. We intend to start the project on September 22 and finish on the 13th of October. Each member of the group will contribute to finishing the project.
